William Faucher's EasyToolbag Is the UE5 Time-Saver You Didn't Know You Needed

New video is live. I take a close look at William Faucher's EasyToolbag for Unreal Engine 5.6, which cuts out a lot of the repetitive busywork when building worlds in Unreal. But first, the roundup, which this week is heavy on Adobe MAX sneaks.

New tech updates

Adobe MAX sneaks

A few standouts from Adobe MAX. Project Surface Swap uses AI texture recognition to select and swap materials in a photo while keeping lighting and perspective intact. Project Scene It builds a mesh and scene from a single image, with object tagging and 3D manipulation, useful for blockouts and paintover bases. Project Graph is a node-based tool for building workflows across Photoshop and Firefly with editable steps inside the original apps.

Adobe MAX sneaks

Affinity goes free, and Figma buys Weavy

The consolidated Affinity app, combining Photo, Designer, and Publisher, is now free, which cuts costs for quick edits and layouts. Figma also acquired Weavy.AI, a node-based platform that sits a level above ComfyUI in accessibility, giving access to AI models and pro editing tools. My read: node-based orchestration platforms will dominate within 6 to 12 months, collapsing fragmented subscription tools into single, controllable pipelines inside first-party apps like Figma Weave and Adobe Project Graph.

New video: EasyToolbag for Unreal

EasyToolbag tackles the time you lose navigating UE5 menus instead of working in your scene. Its Create panel collapses multi-click setups into one click: post-process volumes placed in front of the camera with sensible settings, sequences with attached cine cameras that pilot you to the scene, and a one-click environment light mixer that creates sky atmosphere, volumetric clouds, height fog, a directional light, and a skylight. Viewport helpers add framerate limiting, screen-percentage and exposure control, and quick anti-aliasing switching for clean screenshots. It also gives direct access to the Easy suite, like EasySnow, EasyAtmos, EasyRain, and EasyFog, spawning assets in front of the camera. It is built on Epic's Editor Utilities framework, and EasyToolbag is available on Fab.
