Sprite, tile and animation generation can now run on your own GPU through ComfyUI.
PixelAOI 0.5.0 rebuilds its generation system so sprites, tiles and animation sheets can be generated locally, on your own GPU, with your own models through ComfyUI, a free app for running image models on your own machine. Local generation uses no credits. For a solo pixel artist that means unlimited generation inside the editor without a subscription, and full control over which models you run. The limitation is setup: you need a capable GPU and a working ComfyUI install, which is a real hurdle if you have never used it. The editor is Windows only for now. The developer says it is free for six months, then a one-time $17, so it is cheap to try today.
