Convai Unity MCP

Coding agents can now set up talking AI characters in Unity 6 from plain prompts.

Convai

Following its Unreal MCP in July, Convai published a Unity MCP server, a bridge that lets AI coding agents work inside the editor, with 20 Convai-specific tools. It lets Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini or Copilot wire an AI character into a Unity 6 scene from plain-language prompts, covering avatar setup, voice chat, lip sync, actions and camera-based vision. Convai says a working conversational character takes about five minutes, which is its claim, not a tested figure. For a solo dev curious about talking NPCs, it removes much of the SDK plumbing that usually comes first. You still need the Convai Unity SDK and a Convai account, and the characters run on Convai's service, so check its pricing before building a game around it.

Best for adding talking, reactive NPCs to a game without wiring up five AI services.
