The road to Unreal Engine 6

At State of Unreal 2026 Epic laid out the vision for Unreal Engine 6, which merges the UE5 AAA toolset and the UEFN/Fortnite pipeline into a single engine built around Verse as the gameplay programming model, with a new Scene Graph framework and cross-game content interoperability. Nothing ships yet, Early Access is targeted for the end of 2027, but it sets the direction for the whole ecosystem.
