Trexel announced
The PixiEditor team announces an all-in-one 2D asset suite, with a beta planned for 2027.
Pixi Labs, the team behind the open-source PixiEditor, announced Trexel, a desktop suite meant to replace the pile of apps a 2D game needs. Pixi Labs lists tiling textures, tilemaps, PBR maps with previews, node-based particles, frame-by-frame and skeletal animation, procedural vegetation, skyboxes and pixel, vector and raster tools, with live editing into Unity, Godot and Unreal and engine-native exports. Unlike PixiEditor, Trexel is commercial, not open source, though it shares PixiEditor's node graph. Pricing is undecided beyond a promise to keep it affordable for small teams. It is an announcement only: there is a waitlist, and the beta is planned for 2027.
Trexel
2D devs tired of bouncing between a pixel editor, a tilemap tool and a particle editor, once the beta opens.
