AMD to acquire World Labs

AMD agreed to acquire World Labs, the company behind Marble, in an all-stock deal AMD values at about $8.2 billion. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approval. Fei-Fei Li becomes AMD's chief scientist and the World Labs team continues under AMD. AMD frames the deal around AI compute and research. Neither company has said what happens to Marble, its pricing or its API. For small teams using Marble for environments today, nothing has changed yet. This comes four weeks after World Labs announced Atlas, its partner-only world model.
